We took a day off bringing Kenny to the well known Klias Wetland Cruise, Beaufort.

The fee is RM50 per person, including afternoon tea and dinner. We departed from KK at 2pm, arrived at AL-JO Wetland Cafe at 4.30pm.

This is the introduction from the broucher of Al-Jo Wetland Safari Sdn Bhd:

"Depart from Kota Kinabalu on an overland 2 hour dive via the coastal highway Kota Kinabalu / Beaufort, towards the southwest of Sabah. You will be taken to Al-Jo Riverside Cafe along the Garama River. It's a fully equipped cafe clean and hygienic, manned by well-trained personnel. It has all the amenities to make your transit very comfortable.

You would be welcome with a mid-afternoon tea / coffee with snacks. Once you have quite stretched your limbs, prepare yourself for an exciting adventure through the wetlands along the Garama River.

Hop into our boat to cruise in comfort through the tranquil serenity of mangroves, nipah palms, scrubs and secondary vegetation. Enjoy the serene setting and nature's river trail, while searching for the Proboscis Monkeys and other inhabitants of the Wetlands. With luck, some may come to take a good and staring look at you, quite unalarmed by your presence. You may just be able to catch that ultimate in close up photos of a Proboscis Monkeys. Other wildlife like Macaque Monkeys, the rare silver Languor, birds and reptiles, flying foxes, water buffaloes might greet you occasionally, leaving you with a glimpse of nature in its undisturbed form.

The cruise will take a pleasant 1 1/2 hours approximately. While returning, weather permitting, watch the sunset as the daylight fades into dusk.

Upon your return to AL-JO Riverside Cafe, unwind before you are served with sumptous traditional Malaysian dinner. After dinner, thrill yourself to the spctacular sight of hundreds of fireflies lighting up the trees before returning to Kota Kinabalu."

How do I feel about this trip? If you are a nature lover, you will definitely love that!!
That was a fascinating, relaxing boat trip. I enjoyed that very much! I felt like I was watching Discovery Channel.

I was thrilled by the spectacular sunset view. When the sky turned into dark, the sight of hundreds of fireflies lighting up the trees and the water buffaloes 'bath' along the river excited me.
